WFTW Productions and Buddies in Bad Times Theatre Present THE ITALIJEW HOLI-RANT EXTRAVAGANZA Starring Maggie Cassella and Julie Goldman

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 9, 2005) -

WFTW Productions and Buddies in Bad Times Theatre Present

Thursday December 1 - Saturday December 10

Maggie Cassella and Julie Goldman are mad about the holidays and they're not going to take it anymore. Who are we kidding? It's not the holidays. These are two of the loudest, angriest, female comics on the planet and they're joining forces for THE ITALIJEW HOLI-RANT EXTRAVAGANZA!! Each woman performs her own show each night for an evening that will blow you away. No really, blow you away. As in blow you over blow you away...

Woman or man, gay or straight, tranny or not - if you've had it with all of the bullshit, Maggie and Julie are your comics. Hear them vent and feel the breeze.

Because I Said So 2005 - The Year in Revile

Maggie Cassella's live show has been called "The Daily Show on speed and estrogen". An ex-lawyer, ex-pat, ex-catholic, Italian raised in a Jewish neighbourhood, Maggie spends most of her time frantically scanning the news for the latest political screw-ups, entertainment news nightmares, stupid studies, ludicrous lawsuits, and ridiculous religious rulings and regulations. Sure there's the everyday stuff that makes her mental too, but thankfully there are enough koo-koo bing-bongs out there who see the Virgin Mary on their pieces of toast to afford her sufficient material to write an entire new show every year!

Because I Said So 2005 - The Year in Revile, is Maggie's look back at her favourite insane news stories from 2005. Some stuff, you just can't make up...

Swinging Wild

Julie Goldman has had it, so now you're going to get it. Julie returns to Toronto after killing at this year's we're funny that way™ comedy festival to rage in the holidays. "A master of irreverent cultural criticism" Julie throws punches at everything from politics, to pop culture, herself, her Jewish family, and all that is false and hypocritical in our modern society. "Charmingly deviant" and touted as "the most original and captivating comic giggin' today", Julie has been featured on FUSE TV, VH-1, QTV, AMC, BRAVO, and HBO's THE SOPRANOS. Julie's likeable, vulnerable persona combined with her explosive comic rage will leave you laughing, perplexed, and ultimately hopeful.
