WHA Champions Crowned

VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 5, 2007 -- World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) is proud to announce that the NEW WESTMINSTER WHALERS, coached by former NHL Great GARRY UNGER, are the WHA League Champions of the 2007 Season.

In a season that started on Sept 22nd of 2006 and finishing Sunday March 4th 2007, the WHALERS finished the season by defeating the LUMBY FIGHTING SAINTS at home in NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. for the League Championship.

Coach GARRY UNGER was proud of his players & the effort that they displayed in the season & the Championship Series.

Coach Unger & his team will now travel to Ontario to play the winners of the GMHL based in Ontario for the National Alliance Cup set to start April 1st.

The WHA will announce expansion plans for their coming season at the Alliance Cup in Ontario.

Coach Unger will commence recruiting immediately for the upcoming season where he will defend his WHA CHAMPIONSHIP victory.
