What Can Children and Parents Share From Their Memories of the Little League® World Series? A Lifetime of Good Decisions

Little League® and SharedBook™ Help Parents and Children Remember a Time of Innocence by Asking Them to Take the: Promise of Youth

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 19, 2005 -- Can you remember a time when life was simple; all you did was play games, your mind filled with nothing but joy, and worry could never find its way into the ballpark? Wouldn't you like your child to have such simple and wonderful memories? A company that's in the business of enabling people to capture and enjoy memories wants to help parents and their Little Leaguers® experience and never forget such delight, and to use these memories to help make important choices all of their lives.

SharedBook is the company that enables the creation of a "Little League MemoryBook" which will preserve the Little League experience for a lifetime. SharedBook will be part of the festivities at the Little League World Series, and is using the opportunity to ask parents and their children to stop and take note of what it feels like to be young, happy and healthy, and enjoy the experience of watching and playing Little League.

The Program is called the "Promise of Youth" and the way it works is simple. Any Little Leaguer and his or her parent, who visits SharedBook's booth at the Little League World Series (on Rte 15 across from the entrance to the Little League grounds) or logs onto the Little League MemoryBook Web site http://www.sharedbook.com/littleleaguepromise, can take and sign the "Promise of Youth." The promise is intended to help parents and kids jointly appreciate this special time, and serves to emphasize to kids these times of simplicity, enjoyment, and activity, and to encourage them to make the right choices throughout their life. The Promise reads:

-- Having fun and playing fairly will always be my main goal in sports.
-- I will never forget the accomplishments I achieve while playing within
the rules, both on and off the field.
-- I will enjoy this wonderful chance to play this game with my friends.
-- I shall work hard to learn from my mistakes and the mistakes of
    others.
-- I will cherish this special time in my life.

Any parent and child who agree to and sign the Promise will receive a 10% discount on the purchase of a Little League MemoryBook. For the first time ever, parents can combine their own digital photos with those provided by Little League to create a personalized, full color book for their child. Each Little League MemoryBook starts with a set of articles about baseball and/or softball with topics ranging from sportsmanship to how to break in a new glove provided by Little League. Personal photos can adorn the book's cover and dedication and biography pages can be customized. There are also pages for team and player photos to be pasted in. The result is a unique 36 page, 8 1/2 x 11 full-color Little League MemoryBook with the player's photo on the cover that is professionally printed and bound and sure to keep memories alive for a lifetime. This one-of-a-kind product will feature the Little League logo.

The concept for the Promise was developed by Caroline Vanderlip, CEO of SharedBook, "Every day we are learning more and more about the power and joy of sports. Look at how meaningful events such as the Little League Challenger Games are to the spirits of those competitors. This is the first year in which we will be at the Little League World Series with MemoryBooks available to every Little League parent and player." She continues, "We want our books to provide more than just a lifelong keepsake. We want them to represent to each parent and player a time of pure dedication to do the best one can do. And, what a great way for parents and children to connect with each other. We want parents and children to look back at this time and say, 'It was so simple, so pure. That's the way life can be now.' Memories can be very powerful and they can guide you through difficult choices in your whole life."

Caroline Vanderlip is available for interviews.
