What's All the News About Empowerment Through Sports?

CHANDLER, AZ and GILBERT, AZ--(Marketwire - January 27, 2011) - Empowerment Through Sports is a local youth non-profit organization focused on positively impacting the lives of children; our future.

Organized in 2007 by an Arizona native, Reginald L. Russell, Empowerment Through Sports (ETS) was created amidst him actualizing his dream to play Collegiate Football. The ETS culture believes that sports is a vehicle, and that vehicle can take you to many destinations. Reginald believes that he was able to go to college and obtain his degree in Criminal Justice because of sports. "If it were not for sports, I wouldn't have gone to college," Reginald recalls while walking across the stage at his college graduation thinking that his life and all that has built up to this point had been empowered by his ability to play sports; hence Empowerment Through Sports!

Our Mission is to help young children explore life's benefits with an integrative sports approach. Empowerment Through Sports offers children recreational activities to the following local areas: Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, and Tempe. The activities include their youth tackle football program, which caters to the Gilbert Youth Football and Chandler Youth Football communities, as well as their basketball program, and after-school program. Empowerment Through Sports has been charged to "change the face of sports one kid at a time," while placing principle over personality!
