What'SUP? Vista Guapa Surf Camp Partners With YOLO to Add Stand Up Paddling to Its Surfing Quiver

PLAYA JACO, COSTA RICA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2010) -  Vista Guapa Surf Camp makes a splash in its 8th year of operations with a new partnership with YOLO Paddleboards to be among the first to offer Stand Up Paddling (aka "SUP") in Costa Rica

"We partnered with YOLO because they are like-minded in their business and personal philosophies," says Vista Guapa co-founder Ashley Fieglein Johnson.

"We say 'Pura Vida!' and they say 'You Only Live Once.' We combine the beauty of Costa Rica, its warm waters and awesome surf breaks, with a safe environment and a positive attitude for all of our guests who want to surf one way or another," adds Alvaro Solano, Vista Guapa's other co-founder and 7x Costa Rican national surf champion who manages the camp each day. "I'd never tried SUP before and oh-man is it FUN!"

Vista Guapa is described by guests as "a slice of paradise," offering an adventure-rich and athletically-oriented vacation, while treating guests to the beauty and relaxation that only Costa Rica can provide. The camp is nestled in luscious gardens in the hills of surfing hot spot Jaco, Costa Rica. Alvaro and his team of world-class professional surf instructors and courteous staff provide the best surf lessons and guided surfing in the country, appealing to surfers of all levels.

YOLO was founded by entrepreneurs Jeff Archer and Tom Losee, who saw the need for a hybrid style stand-up paddle board. YOLO stands for "You Only Live Once," reflective of the founders' desire to balance family, business and recreational activities for a healthy heart and mind.

"We're excited to have our boards represented by such a well-respected surf camp," says founder Jeff Archer. "Alvaro and Ashley offer primo lessons in one of the greatest surfing areas in the world."

With the addition of stand-up paddling, Vista Guapa now provides a whole slate of activities -- yoga, mountain biking, hiking, nature tours, massages, Spanish lessons and, of course, surfing. The camp provides lodging in beautiful, air-conditioned bungalows, each with ocean views and private bath; serves breakfast and dinner daily; and transports guests to and from the best surf breaks each day. Weeklong packages average $1200 per person. Details about the packages and the camp can be found on the camp's website BOOK YOUR TRIP NOW!
