NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 18, 2010) - Verdi Corrente Productions (VCP) is making moves in more ways than one. While shooting their much-anticipated debut, Inkubus, starring Robert Englund (the original "Freddy Krueger"), VCP will open a new office at 230 Park Avenue in the heart of New York City.
This comes on the heels of a media storm that accompanied VCP's launch of the Inkubus franchise: within twenty-four hours over three hundred articles had been penned from a variety of sources across the globe. "This is rare for a film with no pre-awareness," said producer Michael Corrente (Outside Providence, American Buffalo, Brooklyn Rules, A Door in the Floor). "The energy on set is electric and with Robert leading such a strong ensemble cast, Inkubus is turning out to be a real gem."
Mr. Englund is excited to be part of VCP's budding franchise: "I'm honored to be hitting my marks alongside William Forsythe (Halloween), Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie's) and Joey Fatone (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), and I'm looking forward to killing them all."
Inkubus, written by Carl Dupré and directed by Glenn CIano, tells the story of a skeleton crew working the final shift at a soon-to-be demolished police station. The night takes a gruesome turn when the demon Inkubus calmly walks into the station holding a severed head and begins to confess to a litany of crimes, some dating back to the Middle Ages.
After Inkubus, VCP is slated to produce three more films within the year including Loosies, the story of a New York pickpocket staring Peter Facinelli (Twilight), Infected staring Joey Fatone, and Paz (also starring Facinelli), the inspirational real-life comeback story of Rhode Island boxer Vinny Pazienza.
