White Glacier Dives Into 2016 With Daily Live Cold Water Immersion Demonstrations at Fish Canada Workboat Canada

SAINT JOHN, NB--(Marketwired - Jan 18, 2016) - White Glacier, the industry leader in protective immersion suits, presents the Arctic 25 hypothermia protective suit to the Canadian commercial marine industry at the Fish Canada Workboat Canada tradeshow, January 22-23 at the Moncton Coliseum Complex in Saint John, New Brunswick.

The team displays a 1,000-gallon ice water tank exhibition that grabs attention. For 10 hours each day without exiting the water, a subject will be immersed in the ice tank wearing White Glacier's Arctic 25 -- an operation that exceeds the current standards set by The International Maritime Organization (IMO).

"With over 30 years of personal and work experience in harsh-water environments -- we know how quickly circumstances can change. Whether faced with a maritime emergency in mild or freezing cold waters, hypothermia can strike and kill in less than 15 minutes. This is why we designed a unique survival tool that can be easily operated from the moment of donning to the potential hours and hours of awaiting rescue," explained Alan Oshirak, Director at White Glacier.

The unprecedented design of the Arctic 25 combines body temperature stabilizing technology and a unique blend of materials to protect against the affects of hypothermia for up to and exceeding 25 hours, more than quadrupling industry requirements. The suit is also tailored to be partially donned in 15 seconds and completed once safely in the water. It can endure up to 4 seconds of engulfing flames and protects victims from high impact jumps overboard up to 10-meters, more than doubling the regulation amount.

Additionally, the Arctic 25 is fortified by heavy-duty pre-lubricated zippers and is carefully packaged for ready-for-action extraction that improves the odds of survival. Once in the water, crewmates can float horizontally or vertically, easily administer first aid, attend to hygienic needs, and eat or drink while awaiting rescue. Survivors in the suit can be easily identified by sea or sky and a built-in harness aids in a more efficient rescue.

White Glacier closed 2015 with successful exhibitions at the Pacific Marine Expo in Seattle, WA, and the DSEI show in London, the largest security and defense tradeshow in the world. This year is set to be one of the biggest years in the books for the White Glacier team with a special attendance at Seatrade Cruise Global, the cruise industry's premier global event.
