White Glacier Introduces Superior Hypothermia Protective Suit to Atlantic Seaboard at the Commercial Marine Expo

NEW BEDFORD, MA--(Marketwired - Apr 27, 2016) - White Glacier, the industry leader in hypothermia protection, gears up for the Atlantic Seaboard's largest commercial marine trade show with a live cold-water immersion display of the Arctic 25 hypothermia protective suit at the Commercial Marine Expo, April 27-28 at the Massachusetts State Pier in New Bedford, MA.

For 10 hours each day without exiting the water, a subject will be immersed in a 1,000-gallon ice water tank wearing White Glacier's Arctic 25 -- an operation that exceeds the current standards set by The International Maritime Organization (IMO).

"This is a great opportunity for anyone who works on the waterfront to stop by our booth and test out the features of the suit. Visitors will learn about the severe dangers of hypothermia and maritime emergency survival needs," says Alan Oshirak, Director at White Glacier.

The unprecedented design of the Arctic 25 combines body temperature stabilizing technology and a unique blend of materials to protect against the effects of hypothermia for over 25 hours, more than quadrupling industry requirements. The suit is tailored to be partially donned in 15 seconds and completed once safely in the water. It can endure up to 4 seconds of engulfing flames and protects victims from high impact jumps overboard up to 10-meters, more than doubling the regulation amount.

Additionally, the Arctic 25 is fortified by heavy-duty, pre-lubricated zippers and ready for action in a moment to improve the odds of shipwreck survival. Once in the water, survivors can administer first aid, attend to hygienic needs, and eat or drink while awaiting rescue.

The Arctic 25 can be found at the Commercial Marine Expo, booth #324.
