WhiteHat Security Extends Application Security Leadership to EMEA

Announces Expansive Strategic Partnerships With F5, Terremark and New European Customers

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 2, 2012) - WhiteHat Security, the Web security  company, today announced its expansion to the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region to meet the growing, global demands for enterprise-class application security testing and risk management. Beyond increasing international sales and support capabilities, WhiteHat has also forged a number of strategic relationships, including security experts such as Terremark, a Verizon Company, HANDD and BCC, across EMEA. The company is continuing to sign additional partners to provide a full network of sales and support for the entire region. WhiteHat is also building upon its existing partnership with F5 Networks to reach new customers in this key market. Over the past year, WhiteHat has experienced unprecedented demand for its solutions in EMEA and signed many new European customers, adding to more than 400 global businesses currently protected by the Sentinel family of Static (SAST) and Dynamic (DAST) Application Security Testing solutions.

"Under the leadership of David Gordon, our Director of Sales, and Gareth O'Sullivan, our Director of Solutions Architecture, we continue to experience significant growth throughout the EMEA region. The world's top companies are recognizing the need to address the global threat to their Web security and applications," said Stephanie Fohn, CEO of WhiteHat Security. "We are thrilled to take this next step as our company grows and embrace the EMEA market shift from legacy application security solutions to our proven SaaS platform. By increasing our regional presence and our growing team of highly respected international partners, we are better able to protect the world's largest brands, their customers, and their reputations."

"Today, hackers target the entire portfolio of websites in an organization. This market shift validates the need for a broad-based application security strategy. As a multi-national business with hundreds of sites, processing billions of pounds per year, it is imperative that we protect our customers' data and maintain our reputation," said the CISO of a large European gaming company. "With WhiteHat Sentinel, we have the assurance that our critical information is secure on a continuous basis and an easy-to-use platform for measuring our risk at any point in time."

WhiteHat also announced today that it has expanded its existing collaboration with F5 Networks to drive adoption of the companies' WhiteHat Sentinel-F5 BIG-IP ASM Web Application Firewall integration in EMEA. The two companies will work closely together to deliver their virtual patching solution that eliminates 71% of common code flaws, leaving only the most complex for remediation by developers. WhiteHat's European operations are expected to grow aggressively through an extensive and growing network of WhiteHat-trained technology and reseller EMEA partners and deep ties with the OWASP Foundation's European chapters.

"BCC and WhiteHat Security have long shared the same views on best-practices for approaching the growing application security needs of businesses around the world," said Eoin Keary, managing director at BCC Risk Advisory, and Global Board Member and Vice Chair for OWASP. "We're excited to be working closely together in EMEA to provide the latest research and education on what has become the number one attack vector for hackers. Our two organizations will be able to address the shifting security demands of the region and deliver solutions that provide immediate and proven improvements to our customers' security posture."

WhiteHat delivers WhiteHat Sentinel, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based website vulnerability management solution, providing the most accurate and complete vulnerability assessments in the industry.
