Whiteman Technology to Acquire Touch TV

Acquisition Will Provide Touchscreen Interaction With Upcoming Smart TV Hub for Integrated Home Entertainment

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Oct 18, 2012) - Whiteman Technology and Touch TV today announced an agreement under which Whiteman Technology will acquire Touch TV Inc. This acquisition will extend Whiteman Technology's flagship product, code name "Delta," into the next-generation as a Smart TV Hub by providing a powerful home entertainment system with touch-screen functionality.

The upcoming, "Delta," Smart TV Hub from Whiteman Technology provides consumers with a single media console for television, recorded shows, movies, music, gaming, Internet and more. The addition of Touch TV will provide multi-screen touch navigation, interactive content and features, and personalized television. With multi-screen touch navigation, Whiteman Technology will enable touch-based devices to seamlessly integrate with the television viewing experience. Then interactive channels take the viewing experience to the next level by enabling users to interact with the programming being displayed in many unique ways. Whiteman Technology adds a personalized experience that allows users to forego having to sift through hundreds of channels in order to find what they want to watch.

"Consumers have long awaited a real smart TV experience, where they can not only enjoy on-demand music and videos, but also online data, games and their existing photo/media libraries all in a unified, simple-to-use interface," said Jia Wu, Director for Strategy Analytics. "While many existing smart TV products are struggling with the lack of an optimal user interaction, Whiteman Technology with the combination of Touch TV is creating new frontiers that have the potential to drastically change the current living room entertainment experience. A Smart TV Hub providing customers with technology that has an easy touch screen solution with the punch of the feature-rich functionality of the 'Delta' clearly extends the convergence trend in the CE market and is likely to change the competitive dynamics in many market segments, including set-top-box, DVR, game console and even smart TV."

Whiteman Technology announced the upcoming "Delta" at the Silicon Valley DEMO Conference last April and has been strategically adding next-generation features. While capable of recording more channels simultaneously than any other device to a 3 TB hard drive, there is much more to "Delta" than just watching and recording television. Voice control and touch control will provide users with a fun and innovative way to interact with their television. The newest AMD Embedded APU has been leveraged to support advanced 3D graphics for gaming. Android applications can be downloaded, while on-demand services deliver a plethora of programming from the start.

"Integrating the vision and foresight of Touch TV will enable Whiteman Technology to deliver an exciting user experience with 'Delta.' Users will be able to enjoy features they could before only imagine," said Ryan Whiteman, CEO and Founder of Whiteman Technology.

Adam Gering, Founder of Touch TV, added, "Combining the vision of Touch TV with Whiteman Technology's next generation Smart TV Hub brings the type of innovation in user experience not seen since Apple released the iPhone."
