WhitePages Enhances Current Caller ID to Provide the Ultimate All-in-One App for Effective Mobile Communications

Leading Social, Call & Text ID App Expands to Include Smart Address Book That Automatically Populates Contact Information

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Feb 13, 2014) - WhitePages, the leading provider of contact information for people and businesses in the U.S., today announced its newly designed WhitePages Current Caller ID app, an integrated communications experience that identifies calls and texts while streaming social network status updates from Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The newest version of WhitePages Current incorporates a smart address book that updates in real-time with names, addresses and more information about all of a user's contacts, including newly identified calls and texts. The app now makes it even easier to be a better communicator with those people in your phone's address book or in your social networks, as well as people and businesses identified by WhitePages Current.

"While communication has certainly advanced with mobile devices, even with all the bells and whistles of today's smartphones, very little has evolved in terms of how we access contact information when we need it most," said Lori Roth, Director of Mobile Products, WhitePages. "WhitePages Current now takes the social, call and text ID features our users know and love, and combines them with a smart address book functionality to streamline communication."

WhitePages Current provides rich call and text ID with real-time social status updates from Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter as well as local information about a caller's location. Users can also see information on which contacts they communicate with the most through insightful infographics that show communication patterns. New features for the app include:

  • Integrated Smart Contacts - The dynamic contacts tab combines a view of all contacts from the phone's address book, plus calls and texts that have been identified by WhitePages, to give users a personalized and relevant experience based on who they communicate with. In addition, users save time by simply deleting unwanted contacts, as opposed to proactively saving new information.
  • Expanded Contact Search - Users can easily search contacts to find telephone numbers and addresses. If a telephone number is not found, users can quickly view social contact profiles from Facebook and LinkedIn to obtain contact information.
  • WhitePages Contact Search - If contact information cannot be found in a user's network, they can find who they are looking for in WhitePages' directory of over 200 million people and businesses.
  • Updated UI - New user-interface streamlines ease of use, improving the overall experience, including the addition of a convenient dialer that allows users to make outgoing calls without leaving the app.

Since launching in 2012, WhitePages Current has facilitated more than 9 billion outgoing calls and texts for users, and has also helped them to identify more than 7 billion incoming calls and texts. WhitePages Current is a top 25 app within the competitive communications category in Google Play and was a finalist in the social category of the 2013 Webby Awards.
