Etobicoke Chamber of Commerce launches annual search for excellence

Attention: Business/Financial Editor, City Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor ETOBICOKE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 14, 2007) - The Etobicoke Chamber of Commerce, a division of the Toronto Board of Trade, today started its annual search for the top businesses in Etobicoke. The Chamber's 2008 Business Excellence Awards will be presented at the 11th annual Awards Gala next March 10 at the Toronto Congress Centre.

Gino Piscelli, Chair of the Etobicoke Chamber's Business Excellence Awards Committee, announced the opening of nominations today, saying, "Anyone who conducts business in Etobicoke should take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to recognize their peers and role models. If you know of a company or community organization that deserves this signal honour, be sure to nominate them."

Piscelli announced eight categories for the 2008 Business Excellence Awards: Community Service; Service/Retail; Manufacturing; Hospitality; Research & Development and Technology; Young Entrepreneur, under 35; Professional Services, and Business Person of The Year. Alain Sutton, Business Person of the Year at the 2007 Awards, says he is thrilled that the Etobicoke Chamber will again be recognizing the best in each business field, explaining, "I think it's really important to seek out and profile the best run businesses in Etobicoke, which is why the Awards Gala has become the highlight of our annual business calendar," Sutton adds.
