Wibbitz Expands Executive Team to Include New Director of Sales and New Head of Product

Company Welcomes Former AOL Video Executive to Tel Aviv Team and Google Alumnus to New U.S. Headquarters

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 4, 2015) - Wibbitz, the text-to-video technology company changing how publishers think about video, today announced new additions to its leadership team with the hires of Jonas Abney as director of sales and Yaron Bloch as head of product. Both executives will join the Wibbitz corporate team as the company expands alongside its recently opened New York headquarters.

Yaron comes to Wibbitz after playing a central role at AOL Video, which was recently acquired by Verizon in an effort for the company to expand into mobile video. As AOL Video's head of product, Yaron helped to make the company one of the largest online video networks in the U.S. He brings vast experience to the growing company, including expertise in mobile, online video platforms, multimedia services and software engineering. His work has been nominated for several industry awards, including for most innovative service at the Mobile World Congress. He holds a BS in Computer Science and an MBA (Summa Cum Laude) from the Executive Program at Ben-Gurion University. Yaron will be essential to the Wibbitz team in overseeing the development of products to match the growing video needs of U.S. publishers.

Jonas brings 15 years of experience in digital media operations, strategic partnerships and technology sales, along with a strategic viewpoint culled from his past experience in the publishing industry. His background includes roles at Nielsen Business Media, where he worked with the digital properties of both Billboard and Hollywood Reporter, and Hachette-Filipacchi Media where he worked with 14 brands including the digital properties of Elle and Car & Driver. Jonas got his start in sales at Industry Brains and then as a part of the Google AdSense team, where he worked with publishers to monetize their remnant inventory and was the first sales rep to generate $1 million in a quarter. He received his BA from Columbia University and his MBA from The City University of New York, Baruch College Honors Program. Jonas will focus on developing Wibbitz's pipeline of new publisher clients in the U.S. and is responsible for all onboarding and management of client communications.

"Demand for instant, scalable, and efficient video is growing at an increasingly rapid pace, and the additions of Jonas and Yaron enable us to expand our management team to meet these growing industry needs," said CEO and Co-founder Zohar Dayan. "They are respected leaders with proven backgrounds, and will be an invaluable part of building out our publisher strategy in the U.S. market."

Wibbitz is aggressively investing in its team, with plans to expand its research and development and product team in Tel Aviv and add another 10 new employees to its New York team by the end of the year. The news comes on the heels of Wibbitz's $8M Series B funding, which it announced last month after expanding into the U.S. market and successfully launching its publisher platform. The company's new U.S. headquarters is located in the growing media hub of New York City's Financial District.
