Wiesenhof Is a Coffee Franchise With Family Values

NORWICH, UK--(Marketwire - Oct 26, 2011) - Kobus Wiese, the founder of Wiesenhof, is more than too aware of the hard work required to be successful.

The former South African rugby star has applied the same principles that got him to the top of his game to his business -- and it's certainly working.

Wiesenhof started out as a single coffee shop in a shopping centre in the East Rand of Johannesburg under a different brand name in 2000. After 12 months, this changed to a bistro and Wiese and his wife Belinda were flooded with compliments about the concept and people wanting to run their own franchises.

More than a decade on, there are 49 franchised Wiesenhof establishments across South Africa, with an additional seven due to open in the next three years, selling a variety of foods from salads to steaks and of course its very own South African coffee.

There is no doubt that lessons learnt through elite sport have transcended to his professional life as a business owner. Teamwork, he says, is of paramount importance.

"Firstly, you need to surround yourself with a great management team that are competent and understand the business but are also willing to adapt to change. I think I have that and have the right set of people."
