WiFi Wireless Inc. (WFWL) is awaiting the second round of bidding on the much-anticipated Los Angeles Community Broadband Network Project. (LACBN). In July 2014, WiFi Wireless Inc. submitted an RFI to the LA City project manager, and was selected to move forward with 13 other bidders. The LACBN is a contract projected between 3 and 5 billion dollars.

An analytical assessment of the list identified only four bidders that appear to be a General Contractor systems integrator, one of which is WiFi Wireless Inc. WiFi Wireless is aligned with Ericsson as its sub contractor and lead equipment vendor.

WiFi Wireless Inc. previously pioneered the concept over two years using the newer LTE technology with the ability to dovetail it with other existing legacy networks to further upgrade wireless communications. When completed, this project will provide wireless Internet access for all of Los Angeles County.

Ted Abrams, CTO of WiFi Wireless, said today that the ability to provide a wireless network utility for the municipalities is a must for communities in the future. "Proposed outlines from the WiFi My City program were discussed in neighborhoods around the greater Los Angeles area for the past six months. Those discussions allowed us to gather feedback from Angelenos that refined our offering and provided us with directional guidance. That is very important to us as we go forward on a project of this large magnitude, and we believe, will be important to the city of Los Angeles as well. Now that the city has launched the official process to find partners, we believe we have advantages, and we are glad to participate in the process."
