Wiggle Bike Shop Announces Launch of the 2011 Wiggle Super Series

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2010) - After a hugely successful first year, Wiggle bike shop  is today announcing its line-up of events for the 2011 Wiggle Super Series – and it's looking bigger and better than ever with some exciting new additions.

A total of 20 events are due to take place, both road bike sportives and mountain bike events, which are sure to appeal to riders of all ages and abilities. Tickets are available from today and the first sportive of the season is one which might prove particularly popular - because it's totally free. The No Excuses Sportive, held on March 27 near Grafham Water, will be limited to 1,000 riders, none of whom will have to pay an entry fee. The catch? If you sign up and don't show up, you'll be charged £25 (with all profits going to charity). We won't want to hear your excuses, we just want you to get out and ride!

If that's not enough to get you on your road bike, how about the UK's first mass night sportive? The Night Rider on September 11 will see cyclists take to the roads around Grafham Water and Rutland Water for either the Epic 100 mile route or the Standard 70-miler. With reflective signage and quiet roads it's sure to be a winner.

Martin Barden, of UK Cycling Events, the organiser of the Wiggle Super Series, said: "We're really excited about the 2011 Wiggle Super Series. This year proved to be a massive success and we saw many mountain bike and road bike riders returning time and again to take part in our events."

Martin Talbot, Wiggle's director of marketing, said: "We can't wait to see the 2011 Wiggle Super Series get started. This year's events were enjoyed by so many riders – we look forward to building on this next year."

Because the 2010 series saw so many repeat customers and the loyalty card was so popular, for 2011 there's the new Super Series Season Pass, of which there will be two versions: the Sportive Pass and the Mountain Bike Pass. Strictly limited to the first 100 riders to apply, the passes will give riders automatic entry into all events and cost less than half the price of buying entries individually. For example, the Mountain Bike Pass includes entry to all five MTB events and costs £62.50 compared to £125 if all events were entered separately. There's also the Early Bird incentive: book any event more than six weeks in advance and riders will receive a free High5 Race Faster pack worth £12.
