Wiggle Bike Shop Athlete Prepares for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 10, 2010) - Emma-Kate Lidbury - one of the sponsored triathletes from Wiggle bike shop - is looking forward to the Ironman 70.3 series finale this weekend at the World Championship race in Clearwater, Florida.

Some of the world's best female endurance athletes will be on the start line this Saturday so it is sure to be an exciting race over the 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21km run. Emma-Kate goes into the race with a string of great results behind her, having finished third at both UK 70.3 in June and Antwerp 70.3 in July, and taken a number of domestic wins throughout the season. Wiggle provide Emma-Kate with cycles and cycling apparel as well as all of her triathlon kit, equipment and nutrition.

Emma-Kate said: "I'm really looking forward to getting out there and racing hard. My training has been going well and the support I have from Wiggle bike shop is terrific. More than anything, I just want to give it everything and see how well I can do. Racing 70.3 is always tough, but I'm expecting this one to be tougher than most. It's still early days in my professional career so it'll be interesting racing against girls who've been at the top of the sport for years."

She added: "I'm hugely grateful to Wiggle bike shop for all the help and support they have given me this season. I wouldn't have been able to train or prepare for this race in the way I have without their help, loyalty and generosity. The cycles and cycling apparel they have provided me with has made a massive difference."

Emma-Kate is also sponsored by Swindon and Cirencester chartered accountants Morris Owen, mobile telecoms company Virtua and Swindon-based sports therapist Rob King.

Look out for race updates on Emma-Kate's Twitter account (@eklidbury) and her race report on the Wiggle blog next week.
