Wiggle Super Series New Forest Spring Sportive Event Expands Due to Huge Demand

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - March 9, 2011) - Tickets have been snapped up so quickly for one of the opening cycling events in the Wiggle Super Series that an extra road bike sportive has now been scheduled. All 1,200 places for the Wiggle Super Series New Forest Spring Sportive - due to take place on Sunday, April 17, from Brockenhurst, Hampshire - were sold in record time so organisers UK Cycling Events have added the New Forest Saturday Spring Sportive to the popular UK cycling events calendar.

The bonus sportive will be held on Saturday, April 16, and will have 500 spaces. It will boast all the same features as Sunday's event and riders will be able to cover either the 83-mile route or the 56-mile route on their bikes. Both routes will weave their way through the beautiful New Forest National Park where the breathtaking scenery and quiet forest roads make for perfect road bike riding.

Riders can look forward to all the luxuries which they have come to associate with the Wiggle Super Series events including well stocked feed stations, disposable chip timing, mechanical support, massages, bike wash facilities, a finisher's medal, well marked courses and a goody bag worth more than £10.

If riders book before midnight on Sunday, March 13, they will also receive a free High5 nutrition pack worth £12.

Organiser Martin Barden, of UK Cycling Events, said: "We were delighted when the New Forest Spring Sportive sold out in record time. When more and more road bike riders kept requesting places, adding another event on the Saturday seemed like the perfect solution. We will also have the New Forest Spring Mountain Bike/Cyclocross Ride taking place that day, so grab your bikes and come and join us! It promises to be a fun-filled day of cycling for all ages and abilities."

Martin Talbot, Wiggle's director of marketing, added: "It's great to see the Wiggle Super Series is proving so popular. The New Forest is a lovely place for cycling so we hope everyone enjoys getting out on their bikes."
