Wiggle Wins 220 Triathlon Award for Seventh Consecutive Year

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Feb. 15, 2011) - Excellent customer service, prompt delivery and competitive prices were just some of the reasons why Wiggle was voted best online retailer for the seventh time at the 220 Triathlon Awards this weekend. The awards, held at the TCR Show at Sandown Park, Surrey, celebrate the greatest achievers on the British triathlon scene.

Wiggle was praised not just for its fast and friendly customer service but also for its extensive range of best-selling brands, including its exclusive deals on triathlon wetsuits and apparel, with many multisport enthusiasts naming Wiggle their "one stop triathlon shop".

James Witts, editor of 220 Triathlon magazine, said: "Once again, the readers of 220 rewarded Wiggle for their excellent customer service, speedy delivery and wide range of popular tri brands. This makes it seven out of seven for the online retail giants."

Martin Talbot, Wiggle's director of marketing, said: "We're obviously delighted to win the award for the seventh year running. We love triathlon just as much as our customers and work hard to ensure we stock the best brands at the best prices. We enjoy giving something back to the sport too and we're proud to sponsor and support our Team Wiggle triathletes."

Team Wiggle triathletes include GB Olympic distance elite stars Stuart Hayes and Jodie Stimpson, Ironman 70.3 pro Emma-Kate Lidbury and age group athlete Carolyn Hewett. Their training diaries and race reports can be found on the Wiggle blog, which readers of 220 also cited as another reason why they love Wiggle.

The Wiggle Facebook page continues to grow and has almost 20,000 fans. The @wigglebikeshop Twitter account also keeps customers up to date with the latest news on deals and promotions on all sorts of kit from triathlon bikes to sports nutrition and much more.

Wiggle.co.uk started as Butlers Cycles, a small independent bike shop in Portsmouth which had been trading since 1920. After initial success selling bike parts and other items online, Wiggle.co.uk was officially launched in 1999. From there, it has expanded to the current 45,000 sq foot warehouse where at any time there can be more than 250,000 products in stock.
