WiLAN Announces Closing of $30.0 Million Over-Allotment Option

OTTAWA, CANADA--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2011) -

Wi-LAN Inc. ("WiLAN" or the "Company") (TSX:WIN)(NASDAQ:WILN) is pleased to announce that it has completed the sale of an additional 30,000 extendible convertible unsecured debentures (the "Debentures") (TSX:WIN.DB) at a price of $1,000 per Debenture for additional gross proceeds of $30.0 million, pursuant to the full exercise of the over-allotment option granted in connection with the Company's bought-deal Debenture financing which closed on September 8, 2011. The exercise of the over-allotment option brings the total number of Debentures sold by the Company pursuant to its bought-deal Debenture financing to 230,000 and the total gross proceeds to $230.0 million.

The securities being offered have not been and will not be registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and state securities laws. Accordingly, the securities may not be offered or sold to U.S. persons except pursuant to applicable exemptions from registration requirements.
