"Wild Card" Mayor Candidate Jon Lord Announces Personal 40-4-4 Job Performance Guarantee

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 15, 2010) - Mayor Candidate Jon Lord states that "he will take a personal one year pay cut of 40% if Council is unable to bring in a balanced budget within 4 months of taking office, that reduces tax increases from looming double-digits to no more than 4% tax or less."

"I call it the 40 - 4 - 4 job guarantee" continues Lord, "and given that we have had estimates of possible tax increases of anywhere from 6.8% minimum to over 13% and even one of 17%, this is a pretty tall order for a new Council to fulfill in only a few months. This personal guarantee is about showing Leadership, Commitment and Accountability, and I will not impose or ask anyone else to do this along with me, it rests on my head alone."

Mayor Candidate Jon Lord's campaign has taken on a sudden burst of life as a result of a major international organizations 94-page Audit of all Mayoral Candidates in Calgary, a report which indicates that Lord would be the best choice for Calgary Mayor based on overall professional background, political experience, credentials, volunteer commitment and vision.

Lord concludes that "he is certainly the underdog in this race, but believes if people take even a moment to look at my web page at or the in-depth 94 page Audit report before they vote on Monday, they will see why I feel I am the best qualified candidate for delivering on balancing the budget, cutting the waste, finding the dollars, and restoring Citizen's Trust in the Ethics and Integrity of City Hall"
