Wild Planet Honored With Three Gold Medals by The American Academy of Taste

MCKINLEYVILLE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 10, 2006 -- Wild Planet is proud to announce that it has been awarded the American Taste Gold Medal by The American Academy of Taste (AAT) for each of its albacore tuna, king salmon and sockeye salmon products in the Precious Commodities Seafood category. In addition, all three products have been designated to be a part of the AAT's "Superfood USA" campaign.

The AAT's prestigious panel of professional chefs judged seafood products on the basis of taste, appearance, nutritional content and safety. Wild Planet products were judged "Excellent" in all categories.

"In the seafood industry, there is a great amount of unhealthy and questionable, even fraudulent practices. For this reason, Wild Planet's excellent product rating and receipt of a Taste Gold Medal are truly exemplary," said Chef Jesse Sartain, founder of the American Academy of Taste.

Wild Planet will be exhibiting at the upcoming New York Fancy Food Show (booth #481). Chef Jesse Sartain will be presenting Wild Planet the medals at the Show on Monday, July 10, 2006, at 1 pm at the Wild Planet booth.

The AAT award follows Wild Planet's recent People's Choice award for Best Tasting All-Natural Albacore Tuna at the 2nd Annual Micro-Canners Conference held in Astoria, Oregon February 28, 2006.
