Williams Controls began doing business in India in 2006, in conjunction with the country's move toward more stringent emission standards for heavy trucks. Most recently, the company has won significant contracts to build electronic pedals for India's leading vehicle manufacturers.

Williams Controls new 16,000 square foot plant will produce a number of different electronic floor pedals and suspended pedals, in addition to the company's new Light Commercial Vehicle pedals designed for light trucks and automotive markets. Production is scheduled to begin in December of this year, following the plant's build-out and customer validation testing.
