Wilmington Chiropractors Incorporate Passion for Athletics Into Practice

WILMINGTON, NC--(Marketwire - Jul 19, 2011) - Graybar Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Centers located in Wilmington, NC with offices additional offices in Clinton and Wallace provide chiropractic services to help patients with injury recovery and pain relief. A main focus of the practice is treatment for athletes who wish to compete at a top performance level and reach a higher level of conditioning and physical health. Several of the Wilmington chiropractors at the Centers are athletes themselves and are involved in coaching, supporting, and treating the local athletes. Both professional and amateur teams seek care from the chiropractors. Members of the Wilmington Hammerheads, SeaDawgs and Tigers sports teams seek care, therapy and rehabilitation at the Wilmington chiropractic clinic. The Hammerheads have the honor of being the first professional sports team of Wilmington. Al Pastore founded the professional soccer team in 1996, which competes in the USISL. The SeaDawgs, a minor league basketball team, are entering their fifth season of play in Wilmington. Their home court is The Joe and Barbara Schwartz in Downtown Wilmington. The Tigers are the city's minor league non-profit football team, started in 2004 by Owner Rosalyn Nixon and Board President, William Bordeaux. Dr. Graybar attends to the various sports injuries and care needed by these professional and minor league soccer, basketball and football players.

Dr. Graybar and Dr. Harris are also actively involved within the sports world outside of the clinic. Their passion has led them to incorporate athletics into their ever day lives. Dr. Graybar is head coach for Wallace-Rose Men's Varsity Soccer as well as the Charity Middle School soccer programs. In addition, he is director for Wallace United, a club travel soccer team. He says, "I am fortunate that my love for sports can be utilized within the practice. I want my training as a chiropractor as well as my athletic experience to help our patients achieve their goals as far as physical conditioning and performance levels are concerned."

Dr. Harris studied at the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA where he worked many hours with patients and athletes in the Sports Rehabilitation Department. "My devotion and interest has always primarily been in providing treatment for those in the sports arena. I am dedicated to all of the patients seen at our practice and am grateful we can expand into being involved with providing assistance to the sports teams in our area," he states. Dr. Harris is currently pursuing certification as a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physician (DACBSP).
