Win a Jubilee Weekend in London with Travelodge and Absolute Radio

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - May 22, 2012) - With the 2012 Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee fast approaching, the world's spotlight is soon to be on London, and where better to be when her Majesty celebrates 60 years on the throne than right at the centre of the celebrations?

Absolute Radio has teamed up with Travelodge to offer its listeners the chance to win a trip for two to London over the Jubilee Weekend. With more hotels in popular London locations than anybody else, staying in a central London Travelodge means the lucky winners will be at the heart of all the action. Not only that, but this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity also includes dinner at a top London restaurant, plus £500 spending money.

To be in with a chance of winning the 'Where's Richie?' competition, listeners should tune into Absolute Radio's breakfast show between Thursday 17th May and Fri 25th May for details of how to enter. Each morning during the week, listeners will need to guess the whereabouts in London of Absolute Radio DJ Richie Firth, based on what he's doing.

Pictures of Richie's antics in the capital will also be posted on Absolute Radio's Facebook page.

The competition comes as part of an integrated media campaign developed by Carat Sponsorship, with Absolute Radio running a series of promotions for Travelodge.

Throughout April, May and June, on-air promotions themed around music, sport and the Queen's Jubilee reward listeners with trips to London, all of which include two-night stays in a top Travelodge hotel, plus activities and spending money. In conjunction with this, Absolute Radio DJs Richie Firth and Maggie Doyle ('Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show'), Pete Donaldson ('Absolute Radio 90s') have been roaming the city and taking advantage of London's sights and attractions in a bid to help their listeners with some fantastic ideas of what to get up to in the capital city. Listeners are being given the chance to experience the same event-filled weekend in London courtesy of Travelodge. Previous prizes have included activities such as the London Thames Speed Boat experience, horse riding in Hyde Park and tickets for the London Eye and London Zoo, all with two nights' accommodation in a Travelodge hotel included.

Louise Simkins, branded content director at Absolute Radio, says: "The tie-up has allowed for some creative on-air features and competition prizes, which will really help to add value to the partnership."
