WINDFALL WORLD RECORD BRIDES: a guide to the charity attempt

Online registrations to participate in the coolest record attempt are now open.

Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Assignment Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2010) - Windfall World Record Brides (WWRB), a Guinness World Record attempt, is a fundraising and awareness-raising event in support of Windfall's anti-poverty programs. On Sunday, October 24, 2010, Windfall will attempt to set the record for the largest gathering of people - men and women - in one location dressed as brides. Dina Pugliese, co-host of Breakfast Television on Citytv, and Roger Petersen, Anchor/Reporter, CityNews on Citytv, will be hosting this event which is scheduled to run from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, Grand Ballroom. The event celebrates the launch of Windfall Brides, Windfall's new social purpose bridal boutique.

The official count, necessary to determine if the attempt is successful, will be at 2:30 p.m. and will take place in the Grand Ballroom; at that time, all attendees will be required to be in the space. However, for the remainder of the time, while enjoying some background music, they will have the opportunity to browse the fun booths and participate in the activities available for the day:

* hair stylists and makeup artists will be on hand to beautify attendees;
* for those who wish to capture memories of their participation in the attempt, there will be a picture booth and event's merchandise available for purchase;
* guests will also have the option to create and send video postcards from the event to their friends or share them through their social media accounts;
* throughout the afternoon, Craig McKinnon, who appeared on season 6 of The Bachelorette on Citytv, will be distributing red roses to a few lucky guests and will be available to pose at the photo booth;
* for those who wish to know what's waiting for them…after 4 p.m., a tarot/palm reader will be on site for the entire time;
* Go Dance Mambo will offer free salsa dance lessons and singer Jessica Sheppard will perform on stage;
* And for those who wish to learn all about Windfall and its innovative programs and initiatives, Windfall staff members will be available to answer questions at the charity's booth.

Wedding dresses will be available at the event for $20 each or two for $30. Veils and headpieces, which are a Guinness World of Records' requirement at the time of the official count, will also be available for $2.
