Windsor Station Apartments, a Community That Cares About the Health and Safety of Their Residents, Focuses on Fitness as Well as Safety

Gold's Gym Comes to Windsor Station, an Apartment Community in East Dallas, to Distribute Tips on Health at Their Quarterly Crime Watch Meeting

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - March 22, 2010) -  In April, Windsor Station Apartments on Buckner Blvd. will be placing special emphasis on issues surrounding health and safety to benefit its residents. A representative from Gold's Gym will be conducting a special presentation to expound upon personal health awareness at their quarterly crime watch meeting. Cedric Wilson, Fitness Consultant, will be speaking about cardiovascular health and discuss overall fitness awareness. There will be a body fat assessment along with diet and nutrition information distributed to residents. As a special incentive to Windsor Station residents, Gold's Gym will offer a special introductory membership incentive to join their gym also located on Buckner Blvd. To top it all off, Subway Sandwiches will be providing the food and offering coupons for the Subway across the street. It will be a true "community" gathering.

Windsor Station conducts a regular quarterly crime watch meeting onsite to help inform residents of local activities and discuss common issues of concern. At every meeting a neighborhood police officer presents an update on crime activities in the area, as well as helpful tips and suggestions, specific to the residents, on how to stay safe. Historically, Windsor Station has remained one of the safest apartment buildings in the area, due mostly to the efforts of the property manager, Nancy Banks. In addition to continuing to update residents through regular community meetings, Nancy attends a monthly crime watch meeting with other apartment managers in the area conducted by the Northeast Division of the Dallas Police Department. During these meetings apartment owners and managers are able to interact directly with the Police Department and voice their concerns related to the safety of their area.

This year Windsor Station was awarded the Gold Star Certificate Award by the Northeast Division of the Dallas Police Department. This new concept takes a multifaceted proactive approach to crime prevention. Using the crime free lease addendum and a certification process the Gold Star Certification Program is a cooperative effort between the Dallas Police Department, Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, along with owners, managers and residents of apartment communities to combat crime in those communities. A rigorous set of regulation and inspections must be passed in order for an apartment building to be awarded this honor. Windsor Station was the only apartment in the area to be given this award thus far.
