Wines From Spain Announces 2011 New York Great Match

Leading Spanish Wine Event Highlights 200 of the World's Most Sought-After Wines; Proceeds From Ticket Sales Benefit the Food Bank For New York City

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 22, 2011) - Wines from Spain, a division of the Trade Commission of Spain, together with headlining sponsor Sovereign Bank, part of the Santander Group, will present its 18th annual Great Match 2011: Spain's Vivacious Varietals tasting in New York this fall.

The Great Match provides an opportunity to sample and learn about more than 200 of the world's most sought-after wines. Additionally, renowned wine experts will lead trade and media seminars highlighting the various wine producing regions of Spain.

Cava Seminar:
12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Hosted by Marnie Old, author, sommelier and wine educator. Seating is limited.

Ribera Del Duero Seminar: 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Presented by Steve Olson, internationally celebrated wine and spirits educator, consultant and writer. Seating is limited.

Trade and media tasting: 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Open exclusively to wine industry professionals and the media.

The public is invited to an evening benefit event featuring culinary creations from some of the city's most acclaimed Spanish restaurants, including Bar Basque, Boqueria, Casa Mono, La Fonda del Sol, Gastroarte, Mercat, Socarrat, Solera, Tertulia and Txikito. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Food Bank For New York City.

Ticket Sales: Tickets are $60 and are available at www.greatmatch.org. Must be 21 or older to attend.
