Winning Brands Listing Formalized by Amazon China

1000+™ Stain Remover Passes Review Phase; Formal Listing Follows

BARRIE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 2, 2008) - Winning Brands Corporation (PINKSHEETS: WNBD) (FRANKFURT: WMU) www.WinningBrands.ca announces that Winning Colours® Stain Remover has passed the evaluation phase of its listing with Amazon.com China affiliate -- Amazon.cn. For the Chinese market, the product will be known as "1000+™ Stain Remover" to accommodate the non-roman alphabet of Chinese consumers. Amazon is a world leader in on-line consumer sales and entered the Chinese market through the acquisition of Joyo.com in 2004, now renamed Amazon.cn. The Winning Brands product had been under evaluation by Amazon.cn since 2007 according to 4 criteria: assessment of interest by consumers, determination of whether satisfaction followed purchase, the safety of the product and the likelihood of growth. As a result of this evaluation, including actual product sales by Amazon.cn, Amazon has granted a formal approval of the Winning Brands product. A new shipment of 1000+™ will leave for China 2nd Qtr 2008 with product labelling adjustments reflecting findings of the evaluation phase. A new Amazon.cn on-line Product Page for 1000+™ is under development to reflect the findings and will be unveiled at that time.

Winning Brands CEO Eric Lehner states that this development gives Winning Brands a more dependable presence with Chinese consumers than was the case last year: "Consumers in international markets are only partly distinguished by cultural differences -- other factors are common to all consumers by virtue of their human nature, such as a desire to try something before committing to it. An on-line presence with Amazon.cn which is more committed than testing will provide a practical way for diverse Chinese consumers from all parts of the country to obtain the product through the mail over time. However on-line sales in China are still at a very early stage and therefore applicable to a small percentage of the 1 Billion plus population. An on-line presence is not instead of developing an alliance with storefront retail partners. It's a step toward a nuanced distribution policy in a market that we are still learning about," says Lehner. "It is impossible to predict the final form of our presence in China because the market itself is morphing so rapidly.
