Wireless Matrix Receives Second MBS2 Order From Dominion Under $5M Agreement

RESTON, VIRGINIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 12, 2006) - Wireless Matrix Corporation (TSX:WRX) today announced the receipt of a second order from Dominion (NYSE: D) for 400 additional Mobile Base Station 2 (MBS2) units. The initial order of 423 units, previously announced on November 1, 2005, has already shipped. This brings the total number of units ordered to date under the three-year agreement between the two companies to 823. The total value of the agreement could reach to 2,000 units with hardware and services valued at approximately $5 Million during the initial term.

The agreement provides Dominion with multi-mode MBS2 vehicle hardware and airtime service for deployment to service workers in the field. This allows Dominion to maximize communications and coordinate their deployment to best meet their operational needs including response to outages. Wireless Matrix expects to receive additional orders as Dominion continues to implement its phased rollout plan throughout 2006.

"The reliability of our multi-mode network and our 100% availability provide the functionality and redundancy Dominion needs for their mission-critical field operations," said J. Richard Carlson, President and CEO of Wireless Matrix. "We're proud to be supporting Dominion in this important and ambitious deployment, and truly look forward to providing wireless communications to this industry leader for years to come."
