Wireless Matrix, Stratos to Deploy 3,500 Units with Global Signal

RESTON, VIRGINIA AND BETHESDA, MARYLAND--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 19, 2005) - Wireless Matrix Corporation (TSX:WRX) and Stratos Global Corporation (TSX:SGB) today announced an agreement with Global Signal Corporation to provide 3,500 SDX 1100 wireless data terminals for use in remote data monitoring.

Global Signal Corporation will utilize SDX units as a replacement of POTS and satellite phone services currently used by the company for monitoring data culled from remote tower sites. Global Signal Inc., located in Sarasota, Florida, owns or manages wireless communications towers and other communications sites.

"Global Signal's selection of our wireless data solution is a strong validation of the value and reliability our solution brings to the telecommunications tower market," said J. Richard Carlson, President and CEO of Wireless Matrix. "It's also reinforces the value of our partnership with Stratos. Together, we are putting together winning solutions for organizations with the need to monitor key assets and infrastructure on a real-time basis. We anticipate continued success from our collaboration with Stratos."

A key factor in Global Signal's evaluation was the reliability of the SDX and its ability to reduce maintenance and service call costs. During hurricane Charley in the Fall of 2004, an SDX in Jenkins, FL continued to transmit status in 150 mph winds and after power went out - and continued to transmit status for two more weeks.

"The reliability of this solution under real-world conditions demonstrates its intrinsic value to critical installations," said Jim Parm, Stratos' president and chief executive officer. "Satellite based remote monitoring will provide Global Signal with the means to enhance the quality of their remote monitoring activities."

Deployment of the SDX unit is expected to represent a greater than 50% decrease in monthly site monitoring costs to Global Signal. To facilitate installation, Global Signal is employing multiple teams deploying at a rate of 250 units per month.
