With England Retaining The Ashes, Jesse Young CEO of Per DM Group Believes That Our Government and Businesses Can Learn from English Cricket

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Dec. 30, 2010) - There was unconfined joy in the early hours of Wednesday morning as England bowled out Australia for 258 to win the fourth test by an innings and 157 runs thus retaining The Ashes. "Like many cricket fans I sat up to watch this historic win and see England retain The Ashes in Australia for the first time in 24 years" said Jesse Young CEO of Per DM Group.

The win brought welcome cheer to a bleak winter and a gloomy recession. However the win just didn't reinforce the healthy state of English international cricket, "but also demonstrated the quality of leadership that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has in place right now" believes the Per DM Group CEO.

Much has been made of the need for government to cut back in order to assist the nation in its economic recovery but maybe it's time to examine the ECB's approach to success. Without doubt winning the coveted Ashes will further boost their coffers however success was not an accident of timing. Success was as a result of careful planning and reinvestment into the county cricket system. That foresight and investment has produced many of English cricket's 'new' stars.
