With More Than 60 Partners, Expanded Polycom ARENA Ecosystem Offers Mission-Critical Applications That Unleash Productivity

ARENA Program Equips Channel Partners With Fully Tested, Interoperable Audio, Video and Collaboration Solutions That Create Opportunities Within the $10 Billion UC Market

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - October 20, 2008) - Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the global leader in telepresence, video and voice communications solutions, has expanded the Polycom ARENA™ ecosystem program to include voice, video and application developer partners so that businesses around the globe can streamline communications and enhance productivity. Through the Polycom ARENA program, channel partners can confidently deliver to market a set of collaboration solutions that have been tested and certified by Polycom. This confidence, combined with the innovative suite of products and applications, allows Polycom channel partners to tap into the $10 billion Unified Communications (UC) market to enhance their customers' efficiencies and workflow.

Only Polycom offers the full suite of voice and visual communication solutions that work anywhere within an organization, whether in the conference room, board room, at the desktop or mobile within the premises. With its rich history in unified collaborative communications, Polycom's ARENA program now includes voice, video, wireless and applications partners standardizing on the Polycom Unified Collaboration platform. Within the expanded program, Polycom is offering three levels of partnership: gold, silver and platinum, as well as an associate level. Status is based on commitment and participation within the Polycom ARENA program; member companies will receive a number of sales, marketing, and technical benefits based on their program status.

"Polycom is taking a leadership role by expanding its ARENA partner ecosystem to include fully interoperable solutions that span its voice, video, and applications offerings," said Ira Weinstein, senior analyst and partner, Wainhouse Research. "The ARENA partner solutions include point-products and entire product lines that not only complement Polycom's offerings, but have been guaranteed by Polycom to work seamlessly within Polycom-powered environments."

Polycom recently welcomed a number of new partners to the program including GN Netcom, Mitel and Qumu.

-- GN Netcom offers the Electronic Hookswitch (EHS) solution, which integrates with Polycom SoundPoint® IP phones. The EHS enables remote operation of GN Netcom's compatible Jabra wireless headsets with the Polycom phones, and the EHS adapter allows users to hear ring tones, answer and end calls, adjust the volume or even mute the call from the controls integrated into the headset -- all quite convenient, when you are 450 ft. or more away from the actual desktop phone.

-- Mitel offers communications solutions for a range of organizations from the very small, single site offices to the multi-site, large enterprises. Mitel's SIP based 3300 PBX will integrate with Polycom H.323 and SIP video conferencing systems to provide seamless integration from Mitel desk set IP phones to Polycom group video conferencing systems. The unified communications interoperability solution will support Polycom VSX, HDX, and RMX solutions and enable both connectivity and video escalation from voice.

-- Qumu enables distributed organizations to harness the power and strategic role of video communications to more effectively communicate with their employees, customers and partners in a way that will reduce corporate travel expenses, communication costs and greenhouse emissions. The Qumu capture studio solution provides employees the ability to easily and quickly create and capture high quality video presentations. The Qumu MediaNet solution provides multiple options for reliable video distribution with minimum impact and IT control. Both appliance solutions from Qumu integrate with Polycom video conferencing and streaming solutions, including VSX™, HDX, VMC 1000™, and RSS™ 2000.

"The Polycom ARENA program benefits our partners as much as it does our customers. In fact, we're really setting an industry standard by offering a diverse, vibrant and highly efficient partner ecosystem," said Mark Roberts, vice president of marketing for Polycom's partner ecosystem. "We're constantly in touch with our customers to better understand what they need in order to drive business, and we look for ways to help them leverage their existing investment in Polycom infrastructure by enabling new collaboration solutions beyond the traditional conference room. To demonstrate our commitment to this, ARENA partners actually elevate their program status for developing solutions that meet specific customer needs."
