WITI (Women in Technology International) Annual Silicon Valley Conference Provides Business and Technology Focus

Tech-Savvy Women Attend WITI Conferences for Business Value and Connections

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 27, 2006 -- WITI (Women in Technology International), the nation's leading professional organization for tech-savvy women, holds its 12th annual, three-day conference October 29-31st in Santa Clara. The conference will provide a cooperative environment where attendees will focus on business and technology, expanding their professional network to collaborate on projects.

Top-level professionals from companies such as Tesla Motors, Google, Symantec, IDC, NOAA, IBM, Raytheon, Symantec, Adobe and CNET among others, will be presenting keynote addresses and interacting with attendees during sessions ranging from business opportunities to updating professional skills, to current technology and workplace trends.

Additionally, the Women in Technology Foundation will feature the 11th Anniversary of WITI's annual Hall of Fame Dinner, sponsored by the Women in Technology Foundation. WITI's Hall of Fame, considered one of the most prestigious awards given to women who have made significant contributions in the fields of science and technology, will honor five recipients for their outstanding achievements.

In tune with WITI's core value of honoring past generations of women with a commitment to future generations of women, a portion of the registration fees will be donated to the WITI Scholarship Fund. The fund finances scholarships for young women who wish to pursue careers in science and technology. Similarly, WITI is teaming with the Santa Clara Girl Scouts and the YWCA to bring young women in grades six through nine to the Hall of Fame Awards dinner to help inspire and encourage them to select careers in science and technology.

The conference will take place on October 29th through the 31st at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara and will be lead by long-time WITI member and Mistress of Ceremony, Karenann Terrell, CIO of Baxter International Inc.

"Women are no longer tech-shy -- women own businesses, lead multibillion dollar corporations and outpace men in personal computer, DVD and video game ownership," said Carolyn Leighton, Chairwoman/Founder of WITI. "WITI conferences are the ideal place for women to empower other women and understand each others needs as this segment of the population continues to increase its buying power."
