Wix and Shopify Partner to Launch New Small Business Solution

Web Publishing and Ecommerce Leaders Collaborate to Offer Easy-to-Use Solution for Entrepreneurs

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and OTTAWA--(Marketwire - Nov 19, 2012) -  Wix, the leading HTML5 web-publishing platform, today announced its partnership with Shopify, the all-in-one ecommerce solution. This partnership enables Wix' international user base to easily integrate the Shopify ecommerce solution into their HTML5 websites.

With its advanced HTML5 website builder, hundreds of customizable templates and code free, user-friendly interface, Wix is the website building platform of choice for over 27 million users worldwide. Shopify, with more than 35,000 active online retailers, offers businesses the ability to create professional online stores, manage inventory, sell internationally and much more. Shopify has created a designated app which seamlessly integrates into Wix websites through the company's recently launched Wix App Market.

"Together Wix and Shopify will propel entrepreneurs and small businesses to new levels," said Wix Co-founder and CEO Avishai Abrahami. "The web enables small business owners to play in the same field as huge corporations. By adding a Shopify ecommerce solution into our App Market and thereby into Wix websites we set out to bridge the gap even more. Through this partnership, we're providing small businesses with advanced, affordable and professional tools that heighten their competitive edge."

"This partnership is a great example of how technology is helping to democratize small business and retail," said Harley Finkelstein, Chief Platform Officer, Shopify.com. "Combining Wix' industry-leading HTML5 website builder with Shopify's best-in-class ecommerce platform will give entrepreneurs and SMBs the most seamless, easy-to-use and scalable website and ecommerce package imaginable. The partnership of Shopify and Wix is an absolute game changer for small businesses."

Starting today, a Shopify ecommerce App will be available through the Wix App Market. Shopping pages will be fully customizable harnessing the ease of use and beauty for which Wix is known, and the advanced functionality and secure shopping cart that Shopify online store owners expect. This revolutionary solution easily gives a user with no coding experience the ability to build a beautiful and competitive ecommerce web presence.

Launched just one month ago, the Wix App Market enables the integration of third party applications, like Shopify, to the Wix website builder allowing app developers to create and market web apps to Wix' previously untapped user base. Wix invites companies and developers to create unique and inventive apps that if added to the App Market will grant them massive exposure and business growth.
