NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 27, 2011) - Rostrum/Atlantic Records recording artist Wiz Khalifa was among the big winners at last night's 2011 BET Awards, taking home the prestigious title of "Best New Artist." Last night's victory comes after what has been a whirlwind year for the 23-year old rapper. recently named Khalifa's "Rolling Papers Tour" as one of their "Best Summer Tours," calling the Pittsburgh native, "a star ready for even bigger stages." The 40-city North American tour kicked off with a performance at this year's Bonnaroo Festival, and will wrap in the rapper's hometown of Pittsburgh, PA on August 6th for what is sure to be a showstopping ending to an already critically-acclaimed tour.

Wiz' win at the 2011 BET Awards is just another achievement for the rapper, whose major label debut, "ROLLING PAPERS" recently became RIAA-certified gold. His second single "Roll Up," recently reached platinum status, joining the already 3X platinum smash single, "Black And Yellow."
