Wolf Greenfield Names Oyer President and Managing Partner

Lawyer/Scientist Takes Reins at Boston Intellectual Property Law Firm


BOSTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 21, 2007 -- Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C., a leading Boston intellectual property law firm, has elected Timothy J. Oyer, Ph.D., of Boston, president and managing partner. Oyer succeeds Jason Honeyman, who will continue to head the firm's mechanical practice group.

Oyer's practice involves worldwide intellectual property counseling, including patent prosecution, opinions, agreements, foreign oppositions, trademarks, trade secrets, IP due diligence, and related transactions. His areas of expertise include organic and polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, electrochemical devices, and processing ceramics, among others. He serves clients ranging from major academic institutions and research centers to large corporations to startups and emerging companies in a variety of sectors.

Oyer continues to chair the firm's chemical and nanotechnology practice groups and also serves as a member of the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and IP transactions groups.

He holds a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School. He has authored several publications in the chemical and legal fields and has conducted epidemiology research at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Oyer sits on the MIT Corporation Visiting Committee for the Department of Chemistry and volunteers for the MIT Alumni Association.

He has been named in Boston Magazine as one of Massachusetts' "Super Lawyers" in the field of intellectual property.
