Wolverine Appoints Blanchflower as Director, VP Exploration, Eaton as Technical Advisor

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 3, 2012) - WOLVERINE MINERALS CORP. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:WLV)(FRANKFURT:4LP) is pleased to announce the appointment of J. Douglas Blanchflower, P.Geo., as a Director and VP of Exploration of the Company. Mr. Blanchflower will be responsible for overseeing all of the Company's exploration activities. His main focus will be on the Yukon, where Wolverine has optioned 25 gold properties from Strategic Metals Ltd. The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Eaton, B.A., B.Sc. Geology, as Technical Advisor.

J. Douglas Blanchflower, P.Geo.

Mr. Blanchflower brings 41 years of mineral exploration experience to Wolverine Minerals Corp. He is a Professional Geologist registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia and the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario. Mr. Blanchflower is a graduate of Economic Geology with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Geology degree from the University of British Columbia in 1971. Prior to founding Minorex Consulting Ltd. in 1982 he worked for several major mineral exploration companies. Since then he has implemented, supervised and managed gold-silver, uranium and base metal exploration programs throughout North and South America and Asia. During his career, Mr. Blanchflower has served as a director and senior management with several mining companies including: Rea Gold Corporation during the discovery of the Rea VMS and Samatosum copper-silver deposits near Adams Lake, B.C. and Noront Resources Ltd. during the discovery and exploration of the McFaulds Lake Cu-Ni-PGM-Cr deposit. He is currently a Director of Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. and Officer of Strike Graphite Corp.

W. Douglas Eaton

W. Douglas Eaton has been directly involved in mineral exploration in Yukon Territory since 1971. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Alberta and a B.Sc. Geology from the University of British Columbia. Mr. Eaton became a partner in Archer, Cathro & Associates (1981) Limited in 1981 and is currently President of that geological consulting firm. He has been actively involved in management of junior mining companies since the mid-1980s and has held senior officer or director positions with several TSX-V listed companies. Mr. Eaton is Chief Executive Officer and President of Strategic Metals Ltd. and Silver Range Resources Ltd.

The Company also announces the resignation of Paul Matysek from the Board of Directors of the Company. The Company thanks Mr. Matysek for his contribution to the Company and wishes him success in his future endeavors.
