WOM Partners With BoIA to Make Internet Accessible to All

SHERBORN, MA--(Marketwire - May 26, 2011) - WOM Communications, LLC has recently announced their partnership with the Bureau of Internet Accessibility (BoIA.org). This partnership will ensure website accessibility analysis using Section 508 standards, WCAG 1.0 standards and diagnostics for broken links. WOM Communications will use these services to introduce BoIA approved site analysis to all of WOM's clients. This will assist in providing technical help for fixing site issues dealing with Internet Accessibility.

Section 508 applies to federal departments and agencies but it does not regulate the private sector and does not apply to recipients of federal funds. According to the U. S. Census Bureau, about 49.7 million Americans have a disability and rely on special tools to access the internet or materials to access and work with internet data. This includes everything from shopping at online stores to the use of social & professional media.

"We are very excited to partner with BoIA and hope to bring a real value to our clients by making the internet widely accessible to the majority of consumers. We recommend that all our clients in Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, SaaS, and Social Media consider this free test run through BoIA and take a step toward a better internet representation. It is vitally important to have an accessible presence through the Mobile Devices these days," said Sasha Grebenyuk, Strategic Marketing Manager of WOM Communications, LLC.

About BoIA:
The Bureau of Internet Accessibility (BoIA) was established in 2001 by a group of Internet programmers who saw the need for a free resource to support Internet accessibility initiatives and scan sites for accessibility issues while also providing guidance as to how to fix those issues. In June of 2003, the BoIA was officially registered as a Not-For-Profit organization in DC. In 2005, the board elected to remove its not-for-profit status and become a self-reliant corporation.
