INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - Sep 26, 2012) - Jennifer Stamper spent eight years as an army nurse and put three boys through college before deciding to go back to school and earn her LVN to BS in Nursing degree online from Indiana State University.
Stamper's husband encouraged her to move forward by earning her bachelor's degree, but long wait lists for traditional programs soon became a barrier. Fortunately, Stamper found the online LVN to BS in Nursing program from Indiana State University and was able to start immediately.
"The College Network® has partnered with Indiana State University who works with Sonoma State University for clinical rotation compliance to ensure that nurses in California have non-traditional degree program options available," said Gary Eyler, chief executive officer of The College Network. "We want all nurses who desire an advanced education to be able to obtain it in a convenient and affordable way whenever they are ready to earn their degree, without long wait lists."
Even though Stamper had been an LVN for many years, she needed more education to reach her career goals. The clinical component of her program, more than anything else, helped Stamper to prepare for work as a bachelor's prepared RN. "I liked the clinicals because I got to work one-on-one with a preceptor for personal attention," Stamper said. "This was great for me."
Stamper graduated from Indiana State University with her BS in Nursing in December 2011 and is currently working as a level 3 medical-surgical nurse. When asked if she had any final thoughts on the program, she said, "It is terrific. It was a life-saver, and it truly changed my life."
