NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 21, 2007) - Women Against Cancer (WAC) is hosting its
annual Pink and White Party with a Purpose to raise funds for the fight
against breast cancer. The 2007 Pink and White Party will take place
Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 4:00 to 9:30 pm at BLVD/Crash Mansion, 199
Bowery, NYC. This event provides food, fun, entertainment, DJ and dancing
as well as a silent bachelor/bachelorette auction. All ticket holders are
automatically entered in a raffle to win many wonderful gifts, donated by
area businesses.
WAC hosted the event last year, in which 100% of the proceeds were donated
to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Each year WAC facilitates an exciting
bachelor/bachelorette silent auction. Lamman Rucker, who guest starred in
the television show "Half & Half," participated in last year's event. "We
raised quite a bit of money through Lamman's participation. In fact we
received the highest bid (donation) for him," said Lisa Bland, Treasurer
for WAC.
"We are extremely excited about this year's program. WAC offers attendees a
wide range of entertainment and opportunities in support of a worthy
cause," said Erica Ford, Executive Director of LIFECAMP, INC. The event
will offer food, live entertainment, retail opportunities and the
increasingly popular silent auction. "Not to mention giveaways. Last
year WAC gave away sports memorabilia and autographed items from recording
artists," continued Ford.
Each year more and more people come to enjoy the live entertainment and
shop at the retail booths. "The Women Against Cancer event provides a venue
for individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds to come out and have a
great time," added Ford.

Women Against Cancer (WAC)

committed to raising funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer
and other types of cancer; providing financial assistance to not-for-profit
