Women in Leadership Mentorship Program Developing Our Future Leaders

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 20, 2011) - The Women In Leadership Foundation is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Montreal Mentorship program, presented by TD Bank Financial Group. Applications are now being accepted for mentors and mentees in the Greater Montreal area program.

The Women in Leadership Foundation (WIL) is a national non-profit organization with charity status founded in 2001 that provides inspiration coaching and training for women. Our vision is to increase women's participation in management and leadership positions in Canada.

WIL's unique and innovative 6 month mentorship program develops leadership potential and builds specific skills through one-to-one mentorship, workshops, and sharing circles. In 2011, 180 women in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal will participate in this program that develops one-on-one deep, personal relationships that lead to fresh thinking and empowerment.

The mentorship program has made a real difference in the lives of its participants, mentors and mentees alike. Nurturing the leadership skills of both of young women and our existing female role models is seeing real life results.

Over 30% of participants are new Canadians and Aboriginals, gaining valuable leadership skills to be applied in their communities. Women from all industries and in any stage of their career participate and benefit from involvement in the program.

The Greater Montreal program, in its second year, is currently accepting applications from both mentors and mentees. Applications are due August 10­ for the program starting in October 2011.

What does the Women in Leadership Mentorship program offer?

The program allows both mentees and mentors to experience personal and professional growth through:

  • Skill building workshops for mentees (2)
  • Guest speaker facilitated roundtables (5)
  • Networking activities
  • Traditional one-on-one mentorship
