Women's Social Health Company EmpowHER Asks "What's in a Name?"

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - Apr 5, 2012) - In a newly released video Michelle King Robson shares why she put the "H" in the word empower when she created the leading online social health community dedicated to women's health and wellness. The amusing video demonstrates how a single letter has created constant angst and hilarity at the company over the past four years, as people often add extra letters and syllables when talking about the top women's health site

As a company built on social and sharing, Michelle uses the fun instructional video to help others learn how to precisely pronounce the company name "Em-Pow-HER." She explains that she simply wanted to put the "HER" in the word empower to make it about women.

The video reveals some of the branding challenges for the growing women's site over the past few years, as demonstrated by a distraught Thom Brodeur, president and COO, when asked for his reaction when people frequently refer to the company by the wrong name.

Millions of women come to the site each month to read about health topics, as well as watch videos and engage in an active community of more than 320 groups where women ask questions and share their personal health and wellness stories. There have been more than 110,000 questions asked, stories told, and comments shared in EmpowHER's Community.
