Woodbridge Group Expands Capital Raising Group

NEW HAVEN, CT--(Marketwire - September 21, 2009) - Woodbridge Group, Inc., a leading mergers and acquisition firm serving middle market companies, is pleased to announce the expansion of its capital raising group with the addition of two new professionals, Alden (Chip) C. Purrington III and Joseph (Joe) Achenbaum.

Woodbridge's capital raising group arranges both senior debt and subordinated debt and equity capital to companies with a minimum of $5 million in annual sales and $1 million in EBITDA, or at least $5 million in assets available as collateral. The capital raising engagements Woodbridge is typically involved with are for funding growth, acquisition financing, shareholder buyouts, recapitalization for partial liquidity and bank refinancing. Types of debt and equity raises include bank debt, sub-debt, mezzanine, bridge and common or preferred equity.

Joe Achenbaum has a 26-year career in investment banking and is responsible for over 165 financing transactions in excess of $8 billion. In addition, he has completed over 50 merger and acquisition transactions totaling more than $3 billion. Joe previously worked as head of GE Pension Trust, Smith Barney and Bank of America's private financing groups. He holds a BA in Economics from Union College and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago.

Chip Purrington is an experienced entrepreneur and investment banker with 20 years of expertise in capital formation, M&A and strategic business development. Chip's previous work resulted in revenue growth and innovation for companies such as Mattel, Disney, Quaker Oats and the Stroh Brewery Company. He was part of the senior management team that built and sold a media and ecommerce company to CMGi for $25 million. He earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA in Psychology from Bates College.
