'Woolet: The Slimmest Smart Wallet for the Modern Man' Hits Kickstarter

The Bluetooth-Enabled Woolet Blends Technology and Style to Create a Must-Have Wallet That You'll Never Lose Again

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 25, 2015) - Woolet, an ultra slim smart wallet that alerts you to its location when you misplace it, has launched on the world's largest crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter.com. With the latest Bluetooth 4.0 module in place, Woolet communicates with an app available for iOS and Android, alerting the user when left behind. It makes losing your wallet with its valuable contents nearly impossible. The campaign can be followed and backed during the next 36 days on the project's official page on Kickstarter.com.

"We all live hurried lives. We're all constantly on the go, often forgetting or losing things. If you've ever lost your wallet, you have experienced the unpleasant consequences: getting your cards cancelled, hours spent at office counters and worrying about identity theft. With Woolet, we've eliminated that nightmare, combining the latest technology with a striking, elegant design that doesn't sacrifice style." - says Bart Zimny, Woolet's co-creator and designer.

The Woolet's internals include the latest Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy module. This allows Woolet to communicate with users' smartphones. The dedicated app will alert the user when they move too far from their Woolet -- they can specify a range up to 99 feet. In addition to a sound notification on your phone, the app allows you to locate the missing object by ringing its built-in speaker so you can locate it easily. If truly lost, the owner can simply activate the crowd detection feature so other Woolet users can scan for their wallet.

Woolet's prototypes are made of high-quality calf leather provided by Polish cattle farmers. The wallet stands out because of its slim shape (5 x 3.5 inches and under an inch thin).

Although Woolet is ultra slim, it has all the features that you'd expect from a modern wallet. There are 4 credit card slots, a banknote pocket as well as a special hidden pocket for coins or other valuables. All Woolets will be handmade by Polish artisans skilled in making exceptional-quality wallets.

During the campaign, apart from Woolets themselves, there are also other backing options available with such prizes as RFID blocking sleeves (protecting you against theft of your money from credit cards by RFID-skimming), smart key-finders using Bluetooth or iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus-sized leather covers.

The project's backers are scheduled to receive their Woolets in May this year. The product will be available in two colors: brown and black.

According to a report by Raconteur, the wearables market that Woolet is a part of will reach $50B in value by 2019, a growth rate 5 times faster than the mobile revolution.1

"Woolet combines the latest technologies with a timeless design. We spent weeks designing the package to efficiently hold the electronics, all your cards and cash -- and still be thin and comfortable enough to carry in your trouser pocket. We designed it as a wallet that we would like to use ourselves and would meet our high expectations of items we carry around every day. We believe that users will appreciate the quality workmanship, modernity and great user experience. We also hope that it will be well received by the Kickstarter community." - says Marek Cieśla, Woolet's co-creator.

About Woolet (www.woolet.co)

Woolet was created in 2014 by three experienced Polish entrepreneurs: Marek Cieśla, Bart Zimny and Teodor Kosch. Bart manages Clime, a manufacturer of microsensors for measuring environment parameters such as temperature, air humidity or light brightness. Clime's production was fully financed through a crowdfunding campaign on the company's website, reaching over $30,000. Teodor has over 20 years of marketing and visual communication experience. He leads MIMI, a Kraków ad agency that specializes in serving large and medium-sized companies. He has successfully marketed many different products, including a number of design-related projects.
