Rounding out the expanded executive team, Sanjay Desai has been named to the new position of vice president of products, overseeing both product management and product marketing.
Joe Hyrkin comes to Wordnik from Trinity Ventures, where he served as an Entrepreneur in Residence focused on opportunities in next-generation social commerce, community and social media. Prior to Trinity, he held business development and sales executive roles at companies such as at Gaia Interactive, Yahoo!, Flickr and Virage. Before joining Wordnik, Sanjay Desai served as vice president of Product Marketing at Brightcove, the leading online video platform, and he led the mobile applications business at Tellme Networks, a pioneer in voice communications later acquired by Microsoft. In his earlier career at The Walt Disney Company, Sanjay ran global strategy and business development for the ABC Television Network.
