Workday Named a "Leader" in Human Resource Management Systems by Independent Research Firm


PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 27, 2012) - Workday Inc., the leader in SaaS-based enterprise solutions for global human resources (HR), payroll and financial management, today announced it is identified as a "leader" among HR management systems in a recent report published by Forrester Research, Inc., an independent technology research firm.

  • In the January 2012 report, "The Forrester Wave™: Human Resource Management Systems, Q1 2012," Forrester evaluated nine HR products from seven vendors. The products were evaluated against 69 criteria including current offering, strategy, and market presence.
  • Workday was cited as a "leader" in the evaluation, receiving the highest scores of the group in both the current offering and strategy categories. Workday also received top scores for technology, customer experience, and for a range of categories covering specific HRMS functionality.
  • Forrester also recognized Workday as a leader in the multinational organizations category, stating that, "Workday's configuration flexibility, integration platform, and usability make it a good choice for both medium-size companies seeking simplicity in cost of ownership and large multinationals interested in HR process transformation."

"Workday's strong core HR functionality and advanced SaaS technology platform play well against perennial leaders," notes Forrester analyst Paul Hamerman in the report. According to Hamerman, "SaaS revenue is growing at a 15% rate, nearly twice as fast as the HRM application market as a whole." He further notes that, "Improvements in software configuration flexibility in newer products like Workday's also make this deployment model attractive to organizations of all sizes."
