Market Leader in Information and Financial Data Moves Human Resources to the Cloud

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 16, 2011) - Workday Inc. today announced that Thomson Reuters, the market leader in information and financial data, will leverage the benefits of modern, global software-as-a-service (SaaS) by using Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll for worker data in more than 100 countries. Workday is the leader in SaaS-based enterprise solutions for global human resources (HR), payroll, and financial management.

What's New

  • Thomson Reuters employs more than 55,000 people in 100 countries, working in business units that provide products and services to the financial, legal, tax and accounting, healthcare, science, and media markets.
  • Thomson Reuters considered upgrading its on-premise HR system of record to a current version, and also reviewed other HR vendor offerings for both on-premise and SaaS.
  • Following the evaluation, Thomson Reuters determined that Workday is best aligned with its talent and business strategies, including workforce mobility, insights-driven talent decisions, leveraging cloud computing where appropriate, and the ability to quickly adapt to changing government regulations across the globe.

Workday expects to deliver significant cost savings as it moves Thomson Reuters' human resources and payroll operations to the cloud. Additionally, Workday will provide an intuitive interface, unified HCM and Payroll for local and global workforce management, real-time workforce visibility, and the ability to conduct HR-related tasks and workforce analytics from the iPad® and other mobile devices.
