Working Families Launches New Campaign on Academy Awards

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 25, 2011) - Working Families, an independent organization concerned with giving a voice to working women and men, will launch its new television and Internet campaign on Sunday, February 27th during the live broadcast of the Academy Awards on the CTV network. The theme for this year's campaign is "Who Speaks for Your Ontario?"

"The upcoming provincial election will be one of the most important campaigns in recent memory," said Patrick Dillon, spokesperson for Working Families. "We are witnessing an unprecedented assault on working families south of the border and I am convinced that it will soon reach Ontario. The right wing, corporate agenda will put the economic and social progress that we have achieved at risk."

"Our message in this commercial is that we are prepared to fight for what we value most," said Dillon. "We have built a province that is fair, hard working, respectful and tolerant. We have seen labour peace over the past eight years and social progress that is at risk if a right wing agenda is elected in October."

Working Families will develop future ads that highlight the contrast between these two views. "Our goal is to make sure voters have a clear idea of who they are voting for in October," said Dillon. "We want Ontarians to reflect on who speaks for their Ontario. Is it the right wing corporate agenda or the working people of this province?"

In addition to the television campaign, Working Families will have a website (www.workingfamilies.ca) and Facebook page that will feature articles, encourage participation and dialogue.
