Working Families Takes on Tim Hudak and His Right-Wing Agenda

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 23, 2013) - This morning Working Families launched a campaign to remind Ontarians about the dangers of Tim Hudak and his right-wing agenda. "Over the past weeks and months we have seen Tim Hudak release a series of policy papers that are nothing more than paths to poverty," said Patrick Dillon, official spokesperson for Working Families. "These papers advance an American Tea Party style agenda that pits Ontarians against each other and does nothing to move our province forward."

Two ads will air across Ontario on most networks, promoting the objectives of the Working Families campaign by showing how Hudak's policies will hurt working families. "These ads are being launched now to take advantage of the heightened interest in provincial politics," said Dillon. "It is time that someone pushed back on Hudak and his right-wing views. We intend to stand up and fight the right-wing Hudak agenda before Ontario becomes another Wisconsin or Michigan."

"Hudak's policy papers will hurt Ontarians and especially women by gutting organizations that have fought for gender equality," Dillon pointed out. "The strides women have made in pay equity, maternity rights, daycare, medical and family leave have been as a result of working families and those that represent them fighting these important battles. By attacking these organizations Hudak is putting all of these important issues at risk."
